This program captures, through music, the perspective of two influential women in the cultural and political world of Baroque Europe in the 17th century. At a time when political power was mainly male, the figures of two women emerge who, in addition to

promote the world of arts and music, had great political influence. On the one hand, we meet the gaze of Elena Cassandra Tarabotti (1604-1652), a very influential nun in the world of literature who questioned the role of women in her time. This Venetian writer carried out her literary and protest activity at the same time as great Italian composers such as Fontana or Cima. On the other hand, we will listen to the gaze of Madame de Maintenon (1635-1719), one of the most powerful women in France, second wife of Louis XIV, advisor to the King and music lover, who promoted the world of music through her evenings. musicals, where composers of the stature of Robert de Visée, premiered their most beautiful works to put them at the service of the King.
